ABOUT THIS EXCURSION

The ANSC is delighted to invite you to an exclusively curated tour of the 13th Berlin Biennale of Contemporary Art, titled “passing the fugitive on.”

This edition explores art as a form of resistance—an aesthetic that can evade repression, speak through oral and embodied means, and inspire collective imagination. It invites you to become a conduit: experiencing the works, then passing their echoes forward—through words, gestures, and shared memory.

Along the way, we will also encounter works that engage with today’s ecological urgencies—reflecting on climate change, sustainability, and the fragile balance between humans and their environments.

The Biennale presents an ambitious program of 170 works—many newly commissioned—by more than 60 artists, across four distinctive venues. Our guided tour will take you through two of its most iconic locations, the KW Institute for Contemporary Art and Sophiensaele. If time and interest allow, we will also extend the visit to the renowned Hamburger Bahnhof.
